My wife Maggie and I are heavy smokers. We have made the decision to quit smoking in favor of a healthier lifestyle. We are going to use the money we save from not smoking (to the tune of $500 per month) to spend more money on fresh foods at the grocery store (boxed foods are cheaper and that's what we've been eating) and gym memberships for the two of us.
This is not going to be easy, so we have created this blog as a way for our friends and family to track our progress and to journal each step of the way to hold us accountable. I will be creating a chart every week on Sundays which shows our measurements, body weight, bmi and more. I will also be posting pictures of our bodies as they are transformed, and regular updates on healthy eating and workout routines.
We have both given up drinking already, not that we were heavy drinkers by any stretch of the imagination, it was just a weekend thing... but as of March 27, 2014 we have both been 100% alcohol free. Now it's time to give up the cigarettes!
We are doing this for our health, and for our 4 children. We want to be around to run around with our grandkids one day, not be fat and sick from smoking and overeating.
